Role Description
Civic Nation seeks an Email Assistant to provide email content support in coordination with the Communications Team for When We All Vote. Successful candidates will be strong writers with the ability to develop engaging email content and will be comfortable working with data and email metrics to aid in informing strategy. This is a part-time, temporary position working up to 30 hours per week, concluding December 15, 2026.
Your Impact
Assist the Associate Director of Digital Engagement in developing the email strategy for Party at the Polls.
Write and develop content ideas for the Party at the Polls email program, and for When We All Vote campaigns as needed.
Track and report on Community Partner email list performance, identifying opportunities for better segmentation and engagement.
Compile and analyze Party at the Polls email metrics to inform strategy.
Build and schedule emails in HubSpot.
Provide general administrative support to the Associate Director of Digital Engagement.
Other reasonable and related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
A recent college graduate or currently enrolled in college or university.
1+ year of writing and developing content for email marketing campaigns, ideally in a political, advocacy, or nonprofit setting.
Experience tracking and reporting on digital metrics, with an eye toward identifying trends and opportunities for segmentation.
Requirements
Comfortable learning new software and tools (experience with HubSpot or similar email CRM platforms a plus).
Strong copywriting and editing skills.
Familiarity with voter engagement or civic participation programs a plus.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a small team.
Interest in current pop culture trends.
Ability to stay flexible and organized while managing competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Enthusiasm for working with diverse communities and individuals with varying perspectives.
A personal and professional commitment to promoting cross-cultural awareness and inclusion of individuals from diverse backgrounds, races, ethnicities, religions, sexual orientations, and gender identities.
Salary
The Washington, DC-based salary for this position is $18.40/hour. This role will work 20-30 hours per week and conclude on December 15, 2026.
