Motorcycle & Powersports Technician – Multi-Brand
Motorcycle Mechanic – Multi-Brand Powersports | Stable Year-Round Work
EPM Motorsports | Chicago, IL
EPM Motorsports is a busy, year-round powersports shop in Chicago seeking an experienced motorcycle & powersports technician. We service a wide range of powersports vehicles and operate to OEM-level standards. If you’re adaptable, detail-oriented, and take pride in doing the job right, we offer stable, consistent work with no flat-rate pressure.
About EPM Motorsports
EPM Motorsports specializes in powersports as a whole. The majority of the vehicles we service are two-wheeled and four-wheeled powersports vehicles, including motorcycles, ATVs, and UTVs. On occasion, we also accept jet skis and snowmobiles. Technicians who succeed at EPM do so not because they are locked into one brand, but because they have strong fundamentals and are willing to apply their experience across different makes, models, and years.
Year-Round Work & Job Stability
EPM Motorsports operates year-round and has successfully defied the seasonality typically associated with motorcycle shops in Chicago. While the warmer months are naturally our busiest, the shop remains consistently busy throughout the winter with ongoing projects, larger repairs, restorations, and regular incoming work. New vehicles continue to come in during the winter months.
If you are adaptable and fit well within our team chemistry, consistent work and job security are guaranteed.
What You’ll Work On
- Motorcycles across multiple manufacturers(Japanese, European, American, vintage, and modern)
- Street, sport, cruiser, touring, and specialty motorcycles
- ATVs and UTVs
- Occasional personal watercraft and snowmobiles
- Diagnostics, maintenance, repairs, and select custom or restoration work
Adapting to the EPM Mentality
In the beginning, new technicians may be exposed to a wide range of projects and vehicle types. This is intentional and designed to see how you adapt, problem-solve, and respond to the EPM mentality.
This is not meant to set anyone up for failure. Our shop does not bring in work that our existing staff is not already comfortable handling. From mechanics to the front office, we operate with the mindset that we are Powersports Professionals—and that if a customer has a powersports-related problem, EPM Motorsports has a solution.
You will not be left on your own. As you settle in and find your groove, your regular workload will naturally shift toward the areas where you excel and produce at your highest level.
Service Standards & Work Philosophy
EPM Motorsports holds service standards that compete with top professional shops and dealership-level operations. We believe the correct way to service a vehicle is to follow OEM configurations and specifications.
That means:
- Adhering to OEM torque specifications
- Using proper OEM-approved fluid types and capacities
- Installing parts correctly using OEM procedures
- Prioritizing safety, reliability, and performance over shortcuts
When you follow OEM procedures and pay attention to detail, the vehicle performs as it was engineered to perform—and your work is seamless because it was done correctly the first time.
Who Succeeds at EPM Motorsports
We have seen technicians grow and succeed at EPM based on their prior experience in motorcycles and powersports in general. If you are a quality technician who pays attention to detail, ensures every vehicle leaving the shop is safe, and takes pride in the finished product, you will do well here.
For example, if you are a Harley-Davidson technician, your experience is absolutely valuable. Success at EPM requires applying your general motorcycle knowledge and being open to working on other makes and models such as Yamaha, Honda, Kawasaki, and more.
We operate as a collaborative team. Asking questions, sharing knowledge, and working through problems together is encouraged. Because we pay hourly—not flat-rate—there is no pressure to rush jobs for personal gain. Quality, safety, and professionalism always come first.
